How to contribute subtitles in another language
We’d love these evangelistic videos to be accessible to a broader audience. If you know a language other than English then you could be a great blessing to others by adding subtitles.
This short guide explains how to translate the subtitles easily.
If you scroll to the bottom of each video post there’s a box containing details about translating, sharing and embedding that video. Click on the orange ‘Add subtitles…’ link. This will open the community contributions section of YouTube allowing you to add subtitles to that video.
Below is an example of what one of these boxes looks like. These are found at the bottom of each video page.

Selecting the language
If you were to click on the orange ‘Add subtitles…’ link you’d be taken to the subtitles panel which looks like this:
If you’re not logged into a google account already you’ll be prompted to sign in before you get this screen. Any Google account, Gmail or YouTube account will work.
We’ve selected Spanish as an example:
Submitting the subtitles
After clicking ‘Submit contribution’, this dialogue box will appear:
That’s it. If the subtitles were on one of the Go Chatter videos then we’ll be notified. We’ll spot check the translation with Google translate – just so we know we’re not publishing gibberish. Then we’ll publish your translated subtitles and many people watching the video will be able to benefit from reading along in their own language.
