This new Christmas Story Trail for 2025 can be set up around your building or local area and offers a fun and interactive way to explore the Christmas story. Each A3 poster features a different animated character from the Christmas story and a QR code that reveals a hidden augmented reality animation. Find all five posters to discover the whole Christmas story.

The Christmas Trail
The augmented reality A3 posters depict the Prophets, Mary and Joseph, the Shepherds, the Wise Men, and James the brother of Jesus. Arrange the posters in various locations to create a fun ‘hunt,’ allowing people to discover the story and piece it together.
This interactive trail can be used around your church building, hall, displayed in front windows in a street or even in local shops!
If you would like to place your Christmas Story Trail outside then you can laminate the A3 posters, which doesn’t affect the QR code or augmented reality photo.
They can also be placed in a window behind glass and still work.

The Five Search Posters
Here’s what the five search posters looks like. Use the arrows to click through and view each of the five posters.
Introduction Poster
This is the poster that introduces the Christmas Story Trail. Place this somewhere obvious so people know to start searching for the Prophets.
You only need to scan the QR code once for all the 5 hidden videos to work. The app installs very quickly.
How does the Christmas Story Trail work?
- Arrange the posters in various locations to create a fun ‘hunt’, allowing people to discover the story and piece it together.
- Each poster has the same QR code on it. Participants only need to use the QR code once. Grant permissions for the Web-AR app to install and wait briefly for it to load.
- Then they can hover their smartphone over the picture with the red dotted lines on each of the posters to watch the different hidden evangelistic animations.
- Watch the Christmas story come to life in augmented reality.
- Keep going until you have found all five posters!
