Description

An animation

This animation explores the wonder of Jesus' healing of a paralysed man.

Some men carry their poorly friend to a house where Jesus is teaching… only the crowd is so full that people are spilling into the street trying to listen to the Teacher! They had hoped that Jesus may heal their friend - but it is looking almost impossible that he'll have a chance to receive help from Jesus!

One of the men has a brain wave… the roof! They lower the man through the roof of the house, gently down in front of Jesus.

But Jesus first addresses the paralysed man's greatest need - the forgiveness of his sins. The religious leaders are shocked - only God can forgive sins! Knowing full well what they were thinking, Jesus confirms his authority to forgive sins by commanding the man to get up and walk.

Possible Discussion Questions

  • How must it have felt for the paralysed man to be able to get up and walk?
  • Why do you think that Jesus forgave the man's sins first?
