Description

In this animation, we explore Easter as the true comedy.

That doesn't mean that Easter is full of laughs. "Comedy" and "tragedy" have technical meanings. A comedy is a story that enters into pain but finishes with joy — it's shaped like a smile. A tragedy is a story that contains great joy but ends in pain — it's shaped like a frown. So the question is, "What is life? What kind of tale? Comedy, or tragic fail?"

In the end, only Jesus gives us the happily ever after for this world. So, actually, not only is Easter truly a comedy… Only Easter gives us the true comedy!

Possible Discussion Questions

  • What do you think life is, tragedy or comedy?
  • What is it about the Easter story that makes it a comedy?
